La obligatoriedad de pagar las multas al momento de abonar la patente se hab\u00eda eliminado con la Rendici\u00f3n de Cuentas que se aprob\u00f3 en 2023, durante administraci\u00f3n de Luis Lacalle Pou. Sin embargo, con la reciente aprobaci\u00f3n de la Ley de Presupuesto Nacional del gobierno de Yamand\u00fa Orsi, se volver\u00e1 al m\u00e9todo anterior. La nueva medida incluir\u00e1 la posibilidad de un descuento de hasta el 50% en el pago de las multas de tr\u00e1nsito. Tal como se adelant\u00f3 Garc\u00eda confirm\u00f3 que, a ra\u00edz de la votaci\u00f3n que tuvo lugar en el Parlamento, el Sucive planea reducir a la mitad el monto de las sanciones si el pago es al contado, y del 30% si el pago es financiado en cuotas. De todas formas, aclar\u00f3 que este nuevo sistema regir\u00e1 \u00fanicamente para las multas que pongan las intendencias y no para aquellas que se apliquen en rutas nacionales. Estas \u00faltimas mantendr\u00e1n la posibilidad de apartarlas del pago de la patente, pero no tendr\u00e1n bonificaci\u00f3n a la hora de cancelarse. Como el mecanismo quedar\u00e1 disponible a partir de la cuota de marzo, para quienes ya hayan pagado en enero, por voluntad propia, toda la patente y las multas, habr\u00e1 una novedad: \u00abLes vamos a devolver el 50% de las multas. Se lo acreditamos en la cuenta corriente de cada persona, va y lo retira en Abitab o Red Pagos\u00bb, se\u00f1al\u00f3, aunque indic\u00f3 que ese dinero tambi\u00e9n puede quedar en la cuenta corriente del Sucive para futuros tributos o multas.
