Con el objetivo de desdolarizar la econom\u00eda uruguaya, el BCU prev\u00e9 implementar una serie de medidas, y una de ellas, tiene que ver con la desdolarizaci\u00f3n de los dep\u00f3sitos, por la v\u00eda de que los bancos tengan menos incentivos a captar ahorros en d\u00f3lares y m\u00e1s incentivos a hacerlo en pesos uruguayos. En concreto, el directorio del BCU tom\u00f3 dos resoluciones respecto al r\u00e9gimen de encajes. Los encajes son el porcentaje de los dep\u00f3sitos que los bancos deben inmovilizar en el Central y no pueden destinar a cr\u00e9dito. A mayor tasa de encaje, mayor es el porcentaje de dinero que queda inmovilizado sin poder ser prestado por los bancos.
