El proyecto fue elaborado por el BCU con el prop\u00f3sito de establecer un marco legal para los activos virtuales, aprobado por el directorio del Central en mayo de 2022, posteriormente, fue enviado como anteproyecto de ley al Ministerio de Econom\u00eda y Finanzas (MEF) desde donde fue remitido al Parlamento. Tras la aprobaci\u00f3n parlamentaria, los activos virtuales fueron reconocidos formalmente, el proyecto los equipar\u00f3 en t\u00e9rminos regulatorios a los valores escriturales e incluy\u00f3 a los proveedores de servicios sobre activos virtuales (PSAV) dentro del \u00e1mbito regulatorio del BCU, con lo cual esas empresas ser\u00e1n supervisadas por la Superintendencia de Servicios Financieros (SSF) del Central.
